It’s become a c liché to say "Data is an asset." Roles at the VP or d irector level for Data and Analytics have been elevated to mean more t han managing a data warehouse/lake. In recent years, organizations have inc reasingly invested in the role of Chief Data Officer (CDO), typically expecting this person to fix all their data issues.
\nBut what does i t really mean to say "Data is an asset"? Is it about cutting-edge technologies, moving data to the cloud, and implementing data lakes? Why d o we even care?
