Mutual of Omaha&rsquo ;s data and technological complexity has grown since its inception more tha n 100 years ago, increasing data inconsistences and quality issues along th e way. As it started the Data Quality journey, the need for understanding a nd getting a handle on existing data quality issues became apparent. A foun dational framework was implemented to handle the existing issues as a pivot al first step to move towards mature proactive management of data qual ity. The framework provided a good understanding of the current state, esta blished a standardized and centralized enterprise mechanism while retaining decentralized remediation. The framework adopted a business-focused approa ch while retaining I/S control over execution. It helped with transparency, brought a cultural shift, and won support, which is a huge win f or the Enterprise Data Quality Program. It moved the needle!
